Peace comes dropping slow,
Said the poet,
And though, a quiet nights snow
Can quickly light the dawn
with a white flag,
Unfurled,
We know, that
Old ice takes long to melt.
And great wheels of the world
Are spoked, by small hands,
Unspoken of,
While the eyes of the great are
Sometimes, someplace else.
Then suddenly, in a lifetime,
All is well.
“Growing Relations” looks behind the present day headrigs and headlines to some so called ordinary people in small communities who build bridges and break down barriers in a most interesting and uplifting way. And they do it by doing just what they love to do anyway, neighbourly and naturally.
The Special European Fund have recognized the importance of this work and initiated and sponsored a whole variety of colourful animations created in villages, cities and high hills and valleys all around the land.
We are honoured, to bring you some of the animated workings of these local groupings in the Newry, Mourne and Down Council area and grateful to Peace 4 funding, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body and Newry Mourne and Down Council, for making it all possible.
Look out in the coming weeks for Border Stories, THE kilbroney Ramblers and The Rostrevor Literary Festival
